BOLD is a student leadership and success program open to all students with a major in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, including Open Option.
Program Description
BOLD is a fantastic opportunity for LAS students striving to develop their leadership skills, achieve academic and professional success, and build community with peers. BOLD is a four-year experience, one part of the Graduation+ Program in LAS, and includes a 1-credit course in Fall and Spring of students' first and second years.
The BOLD Learning Community offers these main components:
- A cohort model, with an orientation course in the fall and a seminar course in the spring (LAS 1050 and 1060 the first year, LAS 2050 and 2060 the second year)
- Peer mentoring
- Opportunities to participate in co-curricular activities like internships, study abroad, undergraduate research, and more
- Academic and social events with all learning community students and peer mentors
- Guest speakers from various leaders across campus
- Professional development opportunities, like conference participation or presentation
