Scientific Illustration and Visualization (SCI VIZ)

"Being in a Learning Community is something that's helped me grow as a student and make connections with people who have similar goals as me. The [SCI VIZ] Learning Community has done a phenomenal job to help build a cohort of students who otherwise might not connect with each other during their first year. The group of students in my Learning Community grew to be some of my most understanding friends and favorite study buddies."

Program Description

Scientific Illustration and Visualization (SCI VIZ) is an interdisciplinary major at ISU. The curriculum spans both the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and the College of Design. While the major is administered by LAS, there is a close working relationship with COD administration and faculty.
The program is small, averaging 40-50 students. SCI VIZ is a “destination major” meaning that many students come to ISU specifically because of the program and SCI VIZ attracts many out of state students. Currently, out of state students comprise about 1/2 of the SCI VIZ student count, including several international students.

Our Learning Community allows students to meet others in their cohort from day one.
