Aerospace Engineering majors in the Honors Program
Program Description
The Launch Pad Learning Community focuses on creating a learning environment that enhances the freshman year experience for new aerospace engineering (Aer E) students. The learning team is a course-based learning community in which participants enroll in the same sections of required courses with other Aer E students. The Honors option is available to any student in the First-Year Honors Program, with honors sections of each of the learning community courses being offered.
Upper-class students serve as peer mentors, both within the classroom and lab setting and outside of class, to help facilitate meaningful discussions and interaction opportunities for the learning community students. The learning community activities and events also offer students opportunities to engage with our faculty. Participants will build social and academic support through program activities that will help their transition into Iowa State and the Aer E department.

The Aerospace Engineering Residential Learning Community is offered in conjunction with the ISU Department of Residence and is housed in Helser Hall.
